Peter Chapman was previously the Senior Vice President of Emerging Technologies at First Trade Union Bank where he implemented mobile banking, tablet banking, mobile deposit, and improved the online account opening process and mobile website. While there, he also partnered with a technology startup to deliver the first mobile payment experience for a Bank in the United States. Prior to that, Chapman was Vice President of Management Information Systems at Georgetown Savings Bank. Frustrated by the lack of control banks have over their own digital strategy and the slow pace of innovation, Peter decided he wanted to be part of finding a solution that would work for everyone, so he joined Backbase. As Principle Fintech Strategist at Backbase Peter is responsible for steering product development. He also consults regularly with clients on the future of digital banking, how banks can regain control of their own digital strategy, and what opportunities for differentiation are available to them in web and mobile channels.
